CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels are popular cosmetic procedures designed to rejuvenate the skin and address a variety of skin concerns. These treatments involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which causes controlled exfoliation and the removal of damaged outer layers. The depth and type of peel can vary, with options ranging from superficial peels that target the outermost layer of skin to medium and deep peels that penetrate deeper into the skin. Chemical peels can be a transformative solution for individuals seeking smoother, more youthful skin.

OUR CHEMICAL PEELS

ZO STIMULATOR PEEL

The ZO Stimulator Peel is a popular and mild chemical peel designed to refresh and revitalize the skin. This peel is often referred to as a "lunchtime peel" due to its minimal downtime and quick procedure. It incorporates a blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin, promoting a more even skin tone, improved texture, and reduced pore size. The ZO Stimulator Peel is suitable for a wide range of skin types and concerns, making it a versatile option for individuals seeking a fresh, radiant complexion with little to no post-peel discomfort. It is commonly used to address issues such as mild acne, sun damage, and fine lines, offering a convenient solution for those with busy lifestyles or a low tolerance for downtime. A series of four weekly treatments is recommended followed by a maintenance treatment every 4-6 weeks.

ZO 3-STEP PEEL

The ZO 3-Step Peel is a specialized chemical peel designed to address a range of skin concerns and promote skin rejuvenation. Developed by renowned dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi, this peel consists of a three-step process that combines exfoliation, skin brightening, and deep stimulation. The first step involves the application of an exfoliating solution that removes damaged skin layers and prepares the skin for the subsequent steps. The second step utilizes a high-dose retinol to help improve skin texture, tone, and reduce pigmentation. Finally, the third step incorporates anti-inflammatory agents to soothe and protect the skin while encouraging collagen production. The ZO 3-Step Peel is known for its ability to target various concerns, including fine lines, sun damage, melasma, and uneven skin tone, ultimately leading to a more youthful and revitalized complexion.

FAQS ABOUT CHEMICAL PEELS

RESULTS

The improvements from a ZO 3-Step Peel can be transformative for individuals seeking skin rejuvenation. Results can include the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, a more even skin tone, and improved texture. It is highly effective in addressing issues such as sun damage, melasma, and pigmentation irregularities. Additionally, the peel promotes collagen production, leading to increased skin elasticity and firmness. Over time, patients often notice a more youthful and radiant complexion. A series of three treatments is recommended for maximal results.

RECOVERY

The recovery period following a ZO 3-Step Peel typically involves 5-7 days of downtime during which the skin undergoes a transformation. Chloe will advise you on what skincare products to avoid during this time, such as retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs).

While healing, it's essential to protect your skin from excessive sun exposure. The day of your treatment, you will need to stay inside and avoid sun exposure. Starting the following day, you must wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and avoid prolonged sun exposure, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun during the healing process.

You must avoid intense exercise and excessive heat exposure including saunas, steam rooms, and hot yoga for seven days. You may resume your normal work activities immediately after your treatment but know that you will have visible peeling skin for approximately one week.

SIDE EFFECTS

During the peel treatment, you will experience a temporary stinging sensation which immediately improves with the application of a calming cream. After the peel, the skin will appear red and feel sensitive. It takes approximately two days to begin peeling, and over the course of the next 2-4 days, the damaged skin layer will shed, revealing the fresher, rejuvenated skin beneath. Patients might experience some discomfort and tightness, but this is usually manageable with appropriate post-peel products.

To minimize side effects, Chloe will recommend a skincare protocol for you to begin 4-6 weeks prior to your chemical peel treatment.
