MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that uses a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface. This stimulates the skin's natural healing process, leading to increased collagen and elastin production, and ultimately, improvements in skin texture and appearance. The microneedling device is passed over the skin, creating tiny punctures or microchannels. These controlled micro-injuries trigger the body's wound healing response, promoting skin regeneration and repair. Before the procedure, a numbing cream or gel is applied to minimize discomfort. Afterward, the skin may appear red or slightly sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn, but these effects are temporary and subside within a day or two.

Microneedling provides various benefits, including improved skin texture and tone, reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars, and minimization of pore size. Additionally, it enhances the absorption of topical skincare products. The procedure is minimally invasive, allowing most individuals to resume regular activities shortly after treatment. Microneedling can be applied to the face, neck, and decolletage and may be combined with topical PRF for greater benefits. The number of sessions and treatment intervals vary based on individual goals and skin condition. For a safe and effective procedure, microneedling should be performed by a qualified medical professional who can customize the treatment plan to suit individual needs and achieve optimal results.

MICRONEEDLING WITH PRF

MICRONEEDLING WITH PRF

Microneedling with PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is a powerful combination of two popular cosmetic procedures: microneedling and PRF treatment. During this innovative approach, a small amount of the patient's blood is drawn and then separated through centrifugation to isolate PRF, which contains a higher concentration of platelets, growth factors, and fibrin. The microneedling procedure involves creating controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface using a device with fine needles. After microneedling, the PRF is applied directly to the treated area, taking advantage of the microchannels to enhance its absorption and effectiveness. The combined treatment offers numerous benefits, including enhanced collagen stimulation, faster healing and recovery due to PRF's growth factors, improved skin rejuvenation, and a customized approach using the patient's own blood. Microneedling with PRF is effective in addressing various skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and overall skin texture. The procedure is well-suited for individuals seeking a natural and non-surgical method to enhance their skin's appearance and achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion. For optimal and safe results, it is crucial to have microneedling with PRF performed by a qualified and experienced medical professional who can tailor the treatment plan to address specific needs and goals. They will assess the patient's skin condition, discuss treatment expectations, and ensure a personalized approach for the best outcomes.

FAQS ABOUT MICRONEEDLING

RESULTS

Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, which helps to improve skin texture and smooth out rough or uneven areas.

The increase in collagen and elastin can lead to a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, especially in areas prone to aging, such as around the eyes and mouth.

Over time, microneedling can help reduce the size of enlarged pores, leading to a more refined and even skin surface.

Microneedling can help even out skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation, leading to a more radiant and uniform complexion.

The most noticeable and long-lasting results typically become evident during the 2 to 6 month period. Skin firmness and elasticity improve, and fine lines and wrinkles continue to diminish.

RECOVERY

Chloe will advise you on what skincare products to avoid, such as retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). These should be skipped for a few days after the procedure to prevent any potential irritation.

After microneedling, it's essential to protect your skin from excessive sun exposure. The day of your treatment, you will need to stay inside and avoid sun exposure. Starting the following day, you must wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and avoid prolonged sun exposure, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun during the healing process.

Most people can resume their regular daily activities immediately after microneedling. However, some individuals may prefer to take a day or two off, especially if they experience more noticeable redness or sensitivity.

SIDE EFFECTS

Mild to moderate redness and sensitivity in the treated area are normal and typically resolve within a day or two after the procedure.

Mild swelling in the treated area may occur, but it is usually short-lived and subsides on its own.

As the skin regenerates, some mild flaking or dryness of the treated area can be expected, especially in the first week following the procedure. Microneedling is a well-loved treatment option as the procedure is easily tolerated and has minimal downtime to obtain the desired benefits.
