FAQs
The UltraClear is a cold fiber laser — the first of its kind. It operates at a 2910nm wavelength, which targets water in the skin with exceptional precision while producing significantly less heat than traditional CO2 resurfacing lasers. Less heat means less collateral damage to surrounding tissue, which translates to faster healing, less downtime, and a safer experience across all skin types. The result is real resurfacing with a fraction of the recovery that older technology required.
Think of the three levels as a dial — each step up delivers more intensive resurfacing and more dramatic results, with a corresponding increase in downtime.
-
Light (1 pass): A single pass of the laser for patients new to resurfacing or looking for subtle, ongoing improvement. Recovery is quick — bronzing/flaking for 2-3 days and redness 3-4 days. Great for maintenance and early prevention.
-
Moderate (multiple passes): Multiple passes for more significant correction of texture, tone, and fine lines. Expect 3-4 days of redness and light peeling. A strong middle ground for patients who want real results without extended recovery.
-
Advanced (laser coring): The most intensive UltraClear protocol, and its most powerful differentiator. Laser coring creates precise microchannels deep into the skin, triggering robust collagen remodeling that addresses deeper wrinkles, significant sun damage, and acne scarring. Downtime is typically 5–7 days. Results are dramatic and long-lasting.
-
Laser coring is what sets the UltraClear apart from every other resurfacing laser on the market. Instead of heating a broad surface area, the laser precisely removes microscopic columns of tissue — called cores — deep into the dermis. This creates a powerful wound healing response, stimulating new collagen and elastin formation from the inside out. Because the surrounding tissue remains intact, healing is faster and more predictable than with traditional ablative methods. For patients with significant sun damage, deep lines, or acne scarring, laser coring produces results that no other non-surgical treatment can match.
That's exactly what your consultation is for. We'll look at your skin, talk through your concerns, and factor in your lifestyle — including how much downtime you can realistically take. Someone who can't be out of commission for a week is a different candidate than someone who can plan around a longer recovery. There's no wrong answer, and we can always start at a lighter level and work our way up as you see how your skin responds.
It depends on your treatment level. Light treatments have minimal recovery — redness and mild sensitivity for a day or two. Moderate treatments typically involve 3–5 days of redness, warmth, and some light peeling. Advanced laser coring may involve 5–7 days of more visible healing. In all cases, the skin is rebuilding and renewing — which is the whole point. We'll send you home with detailed aftercare instructions and check in with you throughout your recovery.
